2023:

In July, Dr. Sarafianos delivered a lecture at the Global Virus Network’s 7th Annual Short Course in Basic and Translational Virology in Baltimore, MD.

Sarafianos lab sent seven of our members to Athens, GA for the American Society of Virology meeting in June.

Here graduate student Grace Neilsen presents her poster “Nirmaltrevir Resistance Mechanisms in SARS-CoV-2 Omicron, BA.1, and WA1 Replicons.”

Assistant professor Dr. Shuiyun Lan presents his poster “Development of SARS-CoV-2 replicon cell lines and virus-like particles for drug discovery and mechanistic studies.”


Graduate student Lexi Snyder presents her poster “Hypersensitivity Mechanism of Non-nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitor-Resistant HIV-1 to Islatravir, a Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Translocation Inhibitor.”

Postdoc Jasper Lee fields questions about his abstract “Acyclic Phosphonates as Inhibitors of Mpox Virus.”

May 2nd, 2023: Sarafianos Lab staff participated in a team-building event by playing Friday Night at the ER, a hospital management simulator, with Emory colleagues for a hands-on training in data-driven decision making, effective collaboration, and organizational structure.

Jan 19th – 21st, 2023:

After a 3 year hiatus, we were thrilled to host a face-to-face (F2F) meeting with colleagues at the Behavior of HIV In Viral Environments (B-HIVE) Center!!!!
